August Currently

It's August! How did that happen??? July seemed to drag and fly at the same time. Is that even possible? It dragged with my interview process and waiting for a placement but it also seems like it was over in a few blinks.

But with a new month, it means a new currently with Farley!

Listening: We've lazy bones at the cabin this week haven't been getting up too early. The Husband made it made it back up here yesterday afternoon (he and The Oldest went to get our boat and the truck overheated and had to have some work done so they were gone two nights of his vacation) and is currently making breakfast. Yummy!

Loving: Except for a few exceptions, schools in Michigan aren't allowed to start before Labor Day. Which means I have nearly an entire month of summer left. Yay! I likely can't access my classroom until around the 12th so I will have some time to still beach it up :)

Thinking: The Oldest is headed off to West Virginia in two weeks (yikes!) for her first year of college. There is SO MUCH TO DO before she leaves. Packing, doctor visits, etc. I have to get her financial aid stuff finished up too. That's #1 on my To Do list once I'm back home.

Wanting: I want to see my new classroom. I'm a weirdo and tend to take pictures of my classroom when it's empty and then use the pictures to help me visualize how to arrange my classroom. This was very easy the whole time I was at my last school because I had subbed there before I started teaching on my own and while I moved classrooms all 3 years I was there, I knew what the layout was and that made it easy. My new school was renovated between 2007-2009 and I have absolutely no idea what my classroom layout is. I want to start planning!

Needing: People to RVSP for my birthday bash! It's coming up in a bit more than a week. (And there will be an opportunity for you to participate too! :)

B2S Must Haves: 1) Oh my word, I would be LOST without my new Erin Condren planner! I don't think I will ever go without a paper planner again after getting my hands on this one. I love it. 2) I also always buy myself a new stash of pens when school starts. It doesn't matter if I have tons left from the last stash I bought, I always buy more because I love new pens! 3) Last year I ordered two 31 bags from a colleague's friend who is a consultant. Oh my goodness, I don't know HOW I ever made it without those bags! They carry so much and they are so cute!

    1. Some of my teacher friends think I'm crazy for doing it.....but they are the same ones that marvel that I can go from bare walls to perfection in 3 days. It's because I visually plan first. Saves me a huge headache!
